How It Works

Mechanical Ventilation
with Heat Recovery

MVHR — also known as HRV — is the most effective whole-home ventilation system available.
It continuously supplies fresh, filtered air to every room while recovering up to 90% of heat energy from the air it extracts.

  • Most common cause

    Insufficient ventilation in airtight homes

  • Our solution

MVHR (HRV) Dehumidifier (in 1 system or as 2 separate systems)

  • The outcome

    Mould-free home, year-round

The System Explained

How MVHR Works

A single central unit manages all the ventilation in your home — continuously, quietly, and automatically.

  1. Fresh air drawn in from outside

An intake vent on an external wall draws fresh outdoor air into the unit. This air passes through a high-efficiency filter — removing pollen, particulates, and pollutants before it enters your home.

  2. Heat is exchanged, not air

The incoming fresh air and the outgoing stale air pass through the heat exchanger core simultaneously — in separate channels. Heat transfers from warm outgoing air to cool incoming air, without the two streams ever mixing.

  3. Warmed fresh air supplied to every room

Pre-warmed, filtered fresh air is supplied via ductwork to bedrooms, living areas, and any room that benefits from fresh air. Typically 20–30m³/hour per room.

  4. Stale air extracted from wet rooms

Stale, humid air is continuously drawn from bathrooms, the kitchen, laundry, and other moisture-generating rooms — preventing humidity build-up before it can cause condensation or mould.
